Even though Mackie doesn't really make a hole lot of studio style recording mixers ( and they make some ) I found that using one of there smaller 16 channel mixers with fruityloops, and soundforge was just as good. any additional hiss I might have found due to the low quality of the mixer; was removed with soundforge directx plugins... it worked great, and no one could tell the differance.
