Advice on the construction of the studio or the recording / production equipment? Budget?

A Google search will help you do some research in this. There are allot of options for studio equipment. The same goes for software. Each person has there own take on software and hardware. Really its whats works for you. Unless when you work on a project and find that you have to take it to a separate studio to finish. Then you may find compatibility issues. IE pro tools to acid, things like that.

You might want to sit down and think of some questions to ask. I am sure there are a few people that read dovenet that could help you. But, just advice in general is hard to give. One thing for sure is. Do you home work, read allot of studio building plans. Spend your money slowly.

Oh, BTW, by quoting a "---" tearline (without the ">") as the first line
in your post, it made quoting this message rather fun!

I like what I see. I am going to setup a linux box and play with this. Thanks for posting this. I would have never found it.

I know this is an old thread, but I gotta say (or type, rather) that's the
best advice I've ever read pertaining to pro audio! I've made some rather poor choices in the past with I/O's and other gear. Spur of the moment decisions
can create HOURS of unwanted troubleshooting!
