President Donald Trump's trashing of several of top Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is causing deep alarm inside the West Wing.[1]
Trump's comments in an interview with The New York Times are leading some to worry that their loyalty to Trump might not be reciprocated from the man in the Oval Office.
"It's chilling," one White House official said.
Sessions earlier Thursday said he plans to continue in his job[2] despite Trump saying that he would have picked someone else had he known Sessions would recuse himself from the department's Russia investigation.
"We love this job. We love this department, and I plan to continue to do so as long as that is appropriate," he told reporters Thursday.
