Ahh, the days of UUCP ;) I used Waffle back then.

Good old UUCP and waffle! You sent a message, not knowing if there was
a route defined, unless you knew the damn route it should take.

I ran a Waffle 1.64 back in the mid 90s.
I think I called it "Rational Mystics BBS" or
something. It was the best way I could get
Usenet newsgroups and my own functional
email address that didn't depend upon
other people's servers, rules and such.

My users was unhappy though: They wanted me
to bring back FREE SPEECH (which was one of
my most popular BBS' - the Free Speech software
was great 'cause it was so anarchistic) or
    Pyroto Mountain.

Last year, today in fact, I kept an ancient
promise to a friend that "I'll start up
Pyroto Mountain again someday", dated from
1997... and I did it through DOSbox and stuff.

He logged in, played it for a bit and couldn't
    be happier.

    Full circle. It was cool.

Anyway, I digressed. Never one for on topic.

    I *loved* Pyroto Mountain!
