Have your tried the mac version of syncterm ? It's really as close as you can get to the original pc experience. That's what I use myself

I also use a Mac (main machine) and use the OS X version of SyncTerm. Now as far as on an iOS device, they are anywhere from $4 - $14. Just look for apps that use ANSI BBS/ANSI TELNET. If you need help with looking for one, let me know and I'll let a hand.

Grab the Syncterm for Mac OSX at sourceforge.net at the like below. Works like a charm on Mac, and it's the closest I've seen to the old days.

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/syncterm/files/syncterm/syncterm-1.0/SyncTERM. dmg/download?use_mirror=heanet&r=https%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fsyn cterm%2Ffiles%2Fsyncterm%2F&use_mirror=heanet

Yeah it's good - very good, I don't get why the map COMMAND to Alt on the
OS X version though, if you're like me you're basically hardwired to hit
the Cmd key for everything and swear if you have to move the cursor by
    hand.

Now one unfortunate consequence is that CMD-H which (H)ides as an app on
almost every other OS X native program, SyncTerm reads it is an an Alt-H, hangup...

Also, many if not most Macs don't have insert keys - I really wish that
was mapped to something available on a laptop Mac keyboard.

Tiny problems but if you want a generic DECENT PC ANSI _AND_ VT220
emulator check out iTerm2.app - it's free at https://www.iterm2.com and
if you're willing to spend money, my current favourite "everything but
VT220" application is ZOC7 because it does very good zmodem + kermit
and IBM 3270/5250 emulations (don't ask) but it's not cheap.

    Synchornet - iTerm2.app - ZOC7: Those are my favourite not-just-an-xterm
    OS X terminal emulators.

As others said, Synchterm does, although even though I have it I hardly ever use it because I'm lazy and rather be in an actual shell (which I also use iTerm2). Manority of time I'm on iPhone (sometimes iPad) even. For iOS, I'm using RemoterPro. It does ssh, telnet, VNC/Mac Screen Share, etc, very well. Can't remember how much it was as its been years using it, but worth every cent.

I pointed this out to Deuce last spring. Here's what he said to me then:

"The command is actually <Modifier>-H. In SyncTERM for some reason I never documented, both option and command are mapped to <Modifier>, and in the interface are listed as 'Command'.

"As for changing <Modifier>-H to not hangup, this is a non-starter unless I make all actions remappable (not a near term feature).

"If you think only mapping Option as the modifier is reasonable for OS X users, and won't be surprising when it stops working, I can look into that. IIRC, the OS X guidelines say Command should be used for keyboard shortcuts, and Option be used to modify the behaviour of something, so Command is the 'better fit' to what SyncTERM does."

Yeah, this is probably some f'up in the SDL port, not deuce's fault per se.

"As for changing <Modifier>-H to not hangup, this is a non-starter

I can see that - one code base, adding a whole shit-ton of stuff for one platform isn't reasonable.

Well I disagree a bit with this one - Cmd-H = Hide in 99% of OS X apps.

Thank god there's the "You SURE you want to disconnect?" dialog box when
you forget that this one program is the one that doesn't do what you
    expect when you COMMMAND-HIDE. :)

It's no biggie, this + weird copy/paste functionality (another SDL bug
I'm sure) is why I prefer iTerm2 or (now that I paid for it anyway)
    ZOC7.

There's ZOC for Mac OS X... It works nicely and does have Zmodem support.
