  • SIMNET Update - Get a dial-up number for your Telnet BBS today!

    From Sampsa@VERT/B4BBS to All on Mon Nov 21 23:56:10 2016
    We now have FIVE dial-up numbers around the world (including three in the US)

    that you can use for your Telnet BBS.

    To have your BBS added as a destination node, simply send an email in the following format with the subject line "SIMNET NODE Application <NODENAME (up to 8 chars)>" to admin@uuhec.net:

    <NODENAME> | <BBS Name and description> | <Telnet host> | < Telnet Port>

    For a list of global access numbers check out http://uuhec.net/simnet/

    PS: If you happen to have a spare landline and modem lying around, we could
    use your help in expanding our global network of access numbers - setup is dead simple.

    would upvote if I could, I'm so happy to have joined this, gives my otherwise fairly dead POTS line a FEW more calls a week, I could care less if they are telaging to my system or another, because there are lines in finland and romania offering dialup to my system here in GA USA.

    It was my understanding that you did'nt run one? But this BBS is a dialup gateway.

    Yeah it's really simple:

    1. Pick an up to 8-letter BBS ID
    2. Send an email to admin@uuhec.net
    2.1. Subject: SIMNET Node Application <BBSID>
    2.2 Contents - a single line of text in this format:

    <BBSID> | <BBS Name and description | <telnet host> | <telnet port>

    After that your BBS will be accesible from all SIMNET acces points
    (the 5 numbers and we MIGHT be getting AX.25 HAM radio access very
    soon as well).

    No ads, no donations, no fees - just send the email and you're in.
