I don't understand this, I have a user lgged in via ssh idling on IRC on the kk4qbn channel, had been for a while, then I login to the channel to test my BOT I have online and that user drops carrier on me (guess they got spooked I dunno).

I don't care how long someone idles on my system, thats why I have it setup like I do, it will let them idle as long as they want until time to run an event that it needs to kick people for, then well, it will politlely log them out.. so folks, idle on my system as long as you want, I dont care :) at least someones on. hehehe

Sounds like it was me, but not really testing the bot that was on there; however, I was actually curious as to why there was a bot there.

I tried to get onto the IRC and wait to see if someone would actually show up, but my connection dropped and SyncTerm never informed me that the connection dropped.

I hope that explains things, and I do apologize for the inconvience.

Lol, the bot was there to mainly keep the channel open, and it also has many neat little modules, like weather, some games, etc. Btw. I was testing the bot :)

Just /mgs kk4qbn_bot help next time for more info.

Some of the other channels like #synchronet are much busier, just to a /list command, and /join or create any channel you like :)

sorry you had issues.. that happens from time to time.

sorry you had issues.. that happens from time to time.

The issue was actually from using this cheap wireless network adapter that I previously complained about in the Hardware/Software Help subboard on DOVE-Net. I am still annoy that the network adapter is wonky, but it is what it is; just got to live with it until I can afford to do something about it. :)

Sure it's not some technical glitch - NAT timeout, etc? If their end times out, your end may not see it until you send traffic and the other end resets the connection in response.

I'm wondering if there's a NAT timeout causing the connection to drop.

I honestly do blame my cheap wireless adapter that caused the issue that KK4QBN mentioned. Like I said before, I've already complained about my wireless adapter in the Hardware/Software Help sub-board of DOVE-net.

Try a different network connection and see what happens. :)
