The good Reverend was a character all his own... if a TV Camera was there he showed up. If the tv cameras were not there he did not stay long :-)

However I got to know him from the programs he did in the jail. I remember working in a blockbuster video as an undercover and catching a young black
male red handed stealing an x-box game. As I arrested him he said, "I go to Rev. Coleman's Church and you'll make the news you racist blankety blank." I got my cell phone out... put it on speaker phone and called Rev. Coleman and told him who I was arresting and what he said.

Rev. had a laugh that reminded me of a cross between Jabba the Hutt and Santa Claus... he laughed for nearly three minutes straight before he said he was calling the young man's mama and as far as he was concered a night at the city hotel would do him some good.

Sure enough he stayed three days and never once that I know of reoffended.

But Rev. knew I was anything but a racist... and that's what mde him laugh the most.
