I do have everything running through a surge supressor, and a UPS, but better to be safe than sorry, the UPS is not that good. plus evertime it lightenings my modem answers the phoneline, so my phoneline runs both into my bbs computer and fairly expensive ADSL router, I'm not taking any chances AGAIN, thats what took my last BBS system down pretty much.

it's best to unplug it all if you have a real bad storm. i've seen expensive protectors get zapped easy and the things they protected fried.
