A bit late for the new year, but what are some resolutions you have?
Ill be trying to cut out as much sugar as I can from my diet.

Refined sugar you mean? Natural sugars are good for us humans. That's why nature made them taste that way. :-)
I sure am glad I have Grand Kids I can pawn all that candy off on.
Except the 12 dark chocholate Milkyway bars I will not share those.

I am going to cut out 90% of my soda pop consumption.

I'm not much for new years resolutions. I think you can improve
something any time.

My resolutions were to spend less time fixing, upgrading, and tinkering with my bicycles, and spend more time actually *riding* them. Also, to commute to work by bike whenever possible (17km each way).

Very nice! WAY too far for me to do that - I have to drive about 20
miles one way, and I work IT so I have to have my laptop, and it's
not unusual for me to carry laptops to different buildings for
staff, etc.

It's an adjustment. I plotted a couple of routes to work (including
bike lanes or multi-use paths when possible) on Google Maps, and did a dry-run on a holiday weekend. The first couple of trips took an hour
as I'm slow and out of shape. Got it down to about 40 minutes each way with experience and route tweaking.

As for the laptop, I occasionally carry mine in my pannier pags...
haven't lost a pannier bag yet, but if I did the laptop would likely (probably) be damaged. Special hardside laptop panniers are available,
but I can't be bothered to spend the money :)
It's certainly not for everyone... Hell, I question my own dedication
some days, especially when it's pouring rain.
