So Amazon just ran out on New York. It goes to show you how important the "little people" can be. Don't ever think your vote doesn't matter cause it Does!

I don't know. The whole thing was "suspicious" from the get go. It was a shady deal made by the Govenor under the table. He never even asked if the people of New York wanted Amazon to move in. Then Amazon just canceled the whole thing without discussion. Shady stuff.

Well, they knew they didn't have approval of the mayor of the town they were planning on moving into, and that he was appointed to a state planning commission that would have veto power over the build.

If I were Amazon, I would have tried throwing some concessions out there, or letting the planning commission veto it and have them explain the loss of potential jobs. Must have been something that Amazon didn't want uncovered to walk away like that.

i dont think it was under the table. pretty sure it was transparent and amazon had to meet certain requirements. amazon didnt like what a hassle it would be so they pulled out. they had a right.

The bottom line is Amazon not coming to NY. What bothered me the most was how the people claimed the jobs Amazon offered were not worth having. Back in my day I would have "killed" to have a job with Amazon. It was the 70's. Min wage was $2.80 and hour and there were NO jobs. I hate NY! I hate New Yorkers! It shames me to be a New Yorker!

Most likely it was the tax burden they would have had to bear, put on
them by the kommie-wannabes there in NY.

From what I understand, it was the environmentalists that did not want them there, so Amazon just said "F you" and looked elsewhere.

i remember when the economy took a shit and i was laid off of a contracting
job and i could not get a fucking job to save my life. same with my girlfriend.
it was like i had the stink of the loser. there were so many displaced workers that places were hiring engineers for technician jobs and paying them garbage. these businesses had their pick of the best.

around me amazon employs workers who need a job real fast with no questions asked. i tried to get a side job with them during the summer but they scheduled me for hours i told them i couldnt do. everything was automated and they didnt give one shit about my resume or even want to look at it.

everyone needs a job and places like walmart and amazon give people with low skill lvls a place to be productive.
