My pool is green, having one heck of a time trying to clear that up.

Lowes is supposed to be building me a deck... but I'm getting the run around.

Contractor: Where's the supplies, didn't Lowes deliver them?
Me: Nope, haven't heard anything..
Lowes: The contractor is supposed to buy and bring the supplies.
Contractor: That's news to me...

Central Air seems to be on the fritz...

So... in conclusion... summer is going great so far... *smirk* *snicker*

That's not surprising, but it's frustrating that a lot of companies can't seem to communicate well and end up giving customers the run-around..

i'm pretty sure the contractor buys and brings the stuff.

anyways, had a garage door done a year ago. guy didn't have the right parts. says its on his paperwork. also he installed a dented panel.

so i say, you dont have the locking mechanism we asked for, and the panel is dented.

he goes "where's my money?" i said, well, you didnt do your job correctly and you didnt install what i paid for.

"that's what they put in my truck" so i say "arent you supposed to atleast check you have what you are supposed to have?"

he says "we're going to put a lean on your house if you dont pay"

so i say, take a hike and i'm calling the company.

company had to special order the dented panel and they fixed everything and had to come back 3 days later to fix the door because it wouldnt shut all the way.

people that have contractor jobs are normally fuck ups in life and prefer that line of work because they can fuckup and then go on to the next thing.

they would be fired if they were in a company and had to do the same thing every day and be accountable for what they did. in this line of work there are factors that keep them employed for a while. the company needs them real bad, or they can blame shit on other people.

Been raining every day which sucks. Also extremely hot... like 90-94 everyday heat index 105 and humid.

Florida is supposed to be the sunshine state but this time of year, not much to do but sit around waiting.

I'm in part of the country that tends to get a lot of rain through the year (NW Oregon), but it doesn't feel nearly as humid as parts of the midwest I've been to. I've visited Missouri and Texas, and in the summer it can get very humid there. I had one of my cameras with me for one of the trips, and the lens would fog up when I went outside, which doesn't happen in Oregon. After a few minutes, the camera would acclimate and would be okay.

We tend to get fairly dry in the summer though, since it doesn't rain as often in the summer.

The whole damn country is having a heat wave. My heart goes out for people without AC. Perhaps this "GlobaL Warming" has some validity to it? California was on fire for months and now earthquakes? Someone or something really pissed off mother nature. ;-)

My part of the country has actually been a bit cool for this time of year. I do feel bad for the people in the areas with heat waves though. I don't like hot weather much myself. :/

I think it's fairly well accepted that global warming is a real thing. The issue is whether it's man-made or natural. They say the earth has naturally gone through cycles of cold and hot weather throughout its history.

I'm up at my cottage near Antigo, WI right now, been up here all week. Monday was pretty wet, but it only rained a couple times since then. The heat/humidity was pretty oppressive up until yesterday, though.

It was kind of nice to be able to shut the A/C off last night and crack the windows open again.

yeah i dont know why they are doing it and i dont really see them giving an answer saying why. i'm not sure if their msg editor is messed up or what.

that's pretty normal from what i've seen... i see a lot of it in newsgroups, too... the main difference is they don't have a To: field in them unless you're using a FTN news server like JAMNNTPd...

in FTNs we also have what is known as "comment reply" in addition to the normal "reply"... that's where i can hit a key to reply to a message you wrote and the message is addressed to the person you wrote your's to... in other words, my reply is a comment to your reply and they're both addressed to the another person...

That sounds software dependent. I haven't seen it myself, though to be sure, I rarely use online interfaces, haven't really since the early 1990s. :)

in FTNs we also have what is known as "comment reply" in addition to the normal "reply"... that's where i can hit a key to reply to a message you wrote and the message is addressed to the person you wrote your's to... in other words, my reply is a comment to your reply and they're both addressed to the another person...

What obvious reasons? I use my one and only account on Vertrauen (this one) to post on FidoNet and other networks without any problem. What am I missing?

"wkitty42" is my consistent email address on all domains i use... most people online (not just the BBS world) know me by this... "wkitty" is short for "waldo kitty"... i try not to cross contanimate the two with my personal account and i cannot have two emails and two names on one account... i had thought to use the "callsign" field in sbbs but that seems to just be informational (can't login or post with it) plus it links the two accounts in a manner i'm not comfortable with...

That sounds software dependent.

it kinda is, i guess... it first showed up with JAM message bases, AFAIK...

I haven't seen it myself, though to be sure, I rarely use online interfaces, haven't really since the early 1990s. :)

yeah, QWK and other older tech don't offer it as a feature... you have to do it manually...

you can use your first account on fidonet. there is no conflict.

what do you mean by order? what you are seeing on a bbs when you are reading message? you can change any of that.

Well here, the order is SUBJ, TO, FROM
in say outlook, it is FROM, TO , SUBJ

So if you're not paying attention and used to a particular client's order of these, you may confuse who sent it with who they sent it to.

Sounds lame but I really think that might be my issue and I'm so lazy I just hit reply because I want to reply to the whole thing (probably should change TO to ALL in that case as suggested).

This is probably a result of the interwebz taking over and everyone "commenting" on stuff like FB.

Feel free to call me a d-bag, just pls put up with my stupidity kindly :)
