yea, you did what? please learn to quote and trim... we understand about the control problems but still, one can pretty easily delete irrelevent text once it is quoted... if nothing else, using the delete key...

with that said, yes, i have tried using my (android) tablet to access my BBS and it is totally yuck, hack, puke! <hairball> oops... but it is still possible... it is just part of being a good netizen and family member... we are all a family here... as small as our eclectic group is... and just because some take a few pokes at you, it doesn't mean they don't like you... in their own way, they are trying to help you...

i mean, really, i haven't been a member of any group that didn't take pokes at me for some reason... being able to play/toy with someone shows that they do care... with my obsesive/compulsive and ADD/ADHD it is hard for me to interact like others do but i try and i take a lot of ribbing...

granted, i'm almost 60 and was my father's caregiver until he passed a year ago, but i've learned over these last 30+ years that folks are not always as mean and nasty as they appear to be... in fidonet, i've been known to unleash an monstrous tirade against some folks... full of all kinds of fbombs and other ""cursing""... but to me, that's not ""cursing"" as it is everyday language to me... there were some extenuating circumstances (eg: oldest son passing) which threw me out of circuit for a few years but anyway, enough rambling from this side of the fence...

You're so narrow minded. You blew all my words totally out of context for what I was trying to explain here. It figures you would seeing of your lower intelligence that depicts a total utterness of tonal and unproductivity. You're blocked too.

So here's the deal, friend.

You wonder why everyone picks on you? It's because your responses are like what you wrote here. Just about every message I've seen from you make you look like you're completely-out-of-touch. It's like you're trying to convince everyone you're someone of higher status, and you're here communicating with the peasants in Dove-net. It makes you instantly unlikable.

You ignore common message etiquitte by not quoting what you're replying to or, when you do quote, you quote the entire message, footer, signature and all, and you generally post them in the wrong area.

Finally, the only messages I've seen from you that are somewhat normal are public messages to Rob. There are so many, and they're so compltely random that they're bordering on the "crazy stalker" territory. Based on other messages I've seen, my hypothesis with this is that you're trying to convince everyone else that you're great friends with him in the hopes that it will elevate your status and people will like you by association. It won't, and we won't.

Now, why am I telling you all this? Because when I was 14 or 15, I went through a similar phase. I don't remember where, but I was so convinced I could talk my way out of being absolutely despised by a group of people on a BBS by targeting a couple of the "meanest" ones and trying to put them down by telling them how dumb they were, and how intelligent I was. I even tried to cozy up to the more popular people, to get them on my side, but they saw right through me.

Eventually I disappeared for awhile, then went back and ate a mountain of crow. I apologized publicly and profusely for being a sniveling, whiny little shit. It took a good year or so, but eventualy I became "one of the gang" and I have friends from that group of people that I still talk to today, 25+ years later.

So, my advice to you:

Chill the fuck out. Stop trying to tell everyone how smart you are (To quote Stephen Hawking, "People who boast about their IQ are losers"), and most of all, stop whining.

Yes, but I was saying The Millionaire wouldn't know who is upvoting other peoples' posts. I thought The Millionaire was suggesting that other people tend to upvote their own posts. I'm not sure he has a way of knowing that.

Of course, I am a sysop so maybe I really am the only one who sees those on the rare occurrance that I get one. :)

i know the feeling... i'd love to find some cargo boxes and put them in a hole in the ground with like 4 or 5 feet of dirt on top... would cut down on heating and cooling and reduce my living space to something a bit more managable than this empty double-wide i'm in... we've already got a good start on the hole in the ground where we dug out underneath the house when it was put in place 40 years ago... one corner is 6 inches off the ground but the diagonal opposite corner is 10 feet in the air...

A lot of forums/comment sections have an upvote/downvote feature. I've used it on Synchronet, and I also wrote a voting booth door for Synchronet for poll voting, just for fun (for people who are into that)..

I believe that might be my fault. I think that SBBS displays the messages correctly but, when downloaded for offline reading, they don't wrap in the
same places & get cut off.

That may also be only a problem with older DOS QWK readers, like this one.

I would love to renovate an older trailer, but don't think they'd compare to a tinyhouse with a kitchen and a bathroom. Might make a nice guest room, we have a semi-covered area with water and power that has a separate entrance to our house that would be perfect to park a trailer.

This "tinyhouse" is something I haven't hard of before.. Does it refer to a specific class of small houses?

People want to move off the grid or get rid of mortgages, debt, etc - and build a tiny house somewhere. Build it small enough (under 400 sq feet) and put wheels on it and it's a trailer, meaning you can skirt building codes and not pay for a sewer hookup, water, and so on.

others aren't so tiny, but still hyper-efficient.

i'm not trolling you dovenet idiots. i really think some of you are fuckheads. you especially with your mail order bride.

My BBS has been down for a few weeks after a power outage took out my computer. Once I replaced it, I had to get a tray adapter so my BBS hard drive would fit in the new machine.

Today I'm excited to *finally* get my board back online, and what's the first thing I read on Dovenet? A racist personal attack from my favorite user, MRO.

Kentuckians from the Blue Grass area of the state do have very questionable driving habits (i.e. they should probably not be allowed to). You could
