    I know someone is going to cry "Censorship", and you'd be right, but it's MY board, and I have been deleting these personal attacks from my system so as to not promote further attacks from my users responding to them. I try to run a family friendly board and these personal and flame attacks just have no place on my system.

    It is one thing to attack an idea or an opinion, but that can be done without making attacks on an individual.

    Yes, I may have directed responses towards individuales, and for that I do apologize, but I also try to refrain from personal attacks and debate the ideas not the person. I know I'm not allways successful at that, and I also know that sometimes I use the wrong words to express my thoughts, also something I'm trying very hard to improve upon.

    I know flaming and trolling are longstanding parts of BBS tradition, but sysops enforcing standards on their own boards is also a longstanding tradition. So, I think it's great what you're doing.

    I've never blocked users over the Synchronet message networks, personally, but I'm done with mro, so maybe it's time to give the .can files a try.

    Yes they are, but we also used to have dedicated echos for them, and they never resulted in personal attacks against the posters. we would attack particular computers or some other piece of hardware or even software.

    If we wanted to set up a seperate echo for that stuff and have it age restricted or something, that would be great. But that stuff has NO place here in the open General Discussion echo.

    I gave up trying to figure MRO out.
    I just enjoy his posts for what they are.

    Nah, I finally took steps to remove his messages on my board. I'm not interested in anything he has to say anymore.

    I tried adding him to the twit list on my end but his posts kept coming through, so now I just let them come in and just manually delete his posts when he starts his juvenile name calling. Because, honestly, he does have some good responses at times and can make valid points, as long as he can remain adult with his posts.

    I agree. Sometimes he can be a real great guy other times he can be a real jack***. Maybe he’s bipolar or short tempered or something. He does have issues to deal with for sure. Maybe he has demons.

    if you're trying to connect to irc via 6667, i disabled that port and
    i am only using ssl on 6669
