    It's more an objection to closed hardware/software, than any pragmatic concern.
    I'm not fond of technological developments which disempower people by not allowing them to fully understand the technology that they have paid for and want to use, or use as they see fit. It's not good for individuals and its not good for society as a whole, as people are cut off more and more from being able to learn, develop and innovate.
