I was kidding. Being a relatively new father, going shooting (and buying and other cool macho stuff) has just been a lower priority for me. :-)

However, when your lovely little girl gets to be dating age, I assure
you that you will be interested in a nice 12-gauge double-barrel pump shotgun.

Why you ask?

Because you will be cleaning it ever-so-meticulously when her date
shows up to pick her up... you will smile while cleaning the gun and
look her date directly in the eye and say "You like 'er? She's a
beaut." You look at him a little more sternly and say, "The gun, not
my daughter."

Hee-hee.

Actually happened to me when I was 16. ;)

Actually happened to me when I was 16. ;)

A friend of mine went to pick up his date and found her father cleaning a K-framed Smith with a stern expression on his face. My friend said "Hey! Mine is a Czech CZ-75!", dropped the clip, racked back the slide and handed it over for inspection.

I don't think he went out with the girl for long, but he's still good friends with her old man...

I think that could have happened to the boys that came around for me but I kept dating guys who were bigger than my dad and he never thought to bring out the gun when they were around. :)

keys. ;)

Is that what they are there for? I never knew. I just thought it was for fun or something. I never really notice them there anyway.

Reminds me of my friend who dated a girl who's dad was a racer of cars. My friend no longer dates the girl but he gets together with her dad at the racetrack in the summer still. :)

I'm older than all the lemmings too, but it's become trendy to dress like that and that annoys me, not to mention it's just easier to wear whatever I grab from the closet, it could be "wierdo" it could be "normal" it could be a combination of both... I still have my nosering and wear that almost everyday so it's not like I totally gave up being an oddball.

My old Dungeon Master wouldn't let you roll up a new character unless you had killed someone first. Whenever he started a new campaign there was a rash of bum-slayings.
