  • CatX extenders are so cool

From Deavmi@VERT/KK4QBN to All on Fri Mar 31 11:02:04 2017
I was so happy when I found out that catX extenders were a thing with this:

What purpose do they serve? Couldn't you just use a longer cat6 cable or a female-to-female coupler to connect to 2 shorter cat6 cables to make one long cable?

you should just get the correct cable size and not try to go past the spec of the cable.

I was so happy when I found out that catX extenders were a thing with this:

When I did cabling, we used to use Cat 5 AT&T 104-type jacks (a "biscuit" surface mount jack with 2 CAT 5 jacks), and cross connect them to make a cross-over cable, or straight through to extend a cable.
