Does it bug anyone else when people equate the words "internet" and "web"? I've seen many computer setups with a link to the web browser that just---
says
"Internet". Also, there was a time when a friend of mine told me he used "internet-based email" - I was confused, thinking all email these days is internet-based, and it took me a moment to realize he probably meant "web-based email". Before I realized that, I said, "Isn't all email internet-based?" and he thought I was just being a smart-ass.
Many people don't seem to realize that the web is just one thing available on
the internet.
