    Hi all,

    Just wondering if anyone else is into bonsai?

    We used to have a Chinese Elm which unfortunately succumbed to poor mallsai heritage and an aphid attack, these days we are with a small Fukien Tea which (so far) seems to be more suited for indoor life--at least here in the UK.

    Just wanted to see if anyone on dove is an enthusiast--speak up! :)

    Wow.. It's been YEARS! I had a couple of JapaneseMaples that I had stunted but never really managed a legitimate bonzai. I think the closest I really came was screaming 'BONZAI' as I lept off a bridge span into a lake ;-)

    It's pretty amazing though. I've seem some pretty amazing work done by a
    local Bonzai artist. He has a cyprus that his great uncle started about 75 years ago.

    We started our first bonsai attempt 1-2 years ago. Which is not too long at all, considering the age of trees! Still very much consider myself an amatuer seeking advice and experience.

    I have been looking at reducing the size of my fukien tea's leaves: what technique did you use to stunt the japanese maples? (by the way--lovely trees... love the leaves) What happened to them?

    It's pretty amazing though. I've seem some pretty amazing work done by a local Bonzai artist. He has a cyprus that his great uncle started about 75 years ago.

    Some guys are genuine bonsai nuts--maybe when I'm old and retired I can
    join his ranks... Perhaps I should go to Kew Gardens and make a cutting of an old tree! ;) Don't think they'd take too kindly to that, though...
