I work wierd shifts so got up at 3am, dont go to work til 5pm.
I made Charotte some miso soup for breakfast. She's says it's got a slight tang (I bet I put in too much sesame oil) but is still pretty good.
3 cups dashi
1 TB miso (yellow)
5-6 kelp bow ties
1 slice fried tofu (about 1/2 inch by 2 inch, sliced)
Fry the tofu in a little soy, water, and a few drops sesame oil just as
long as needed to heat the dashi, miso, and kelp to boil. Turn off heat on dashi and miso, slice fried tofu to bottom of bowl and add broth with it's bow tied kelp.
Takes about 3-4 mins from start to finish. Hot breakfast when it's 24F outside.

If it's got hard dumplings in it, I'd probably like it.

Grin, you probably arent used to Dashi (a fish based broth). You can make it with chicken broth too.

Well, fish juice and seaweed doesn't sound very appitizing to me. :)

Ah, where is your sense of adventure? Try something new for a change and use chicken stock for the dashi if in doubt ;-)
