Not without using an external mail exchange to relay the mail for you. I provide that to Synchronet sysops that need it. You just set your DNS MX ser to vert.synchro.net and let me know what TCP port you choose to run your ser on. By default, Synchronet SMTP server listens on both ports 25 and 587, so could just use port 587 for the relayed mail assuing its not blocked.

Hiya Digital Man, I logged into vertrauen to see if there was any way to set this up without bugging you on DoveNET. Port 25 is blocked by my ISP and I'd love to be able to get a listserver up and running. I appreciate any help! Thanks!

DM, thanks for offering that. Does it only work on the .synchro.net DDNS hostname, or is there some way to make it work with a custom domain as well?

Could you use a variation of SMTP ports, such as 2525, etc? I believe that there are thrid party sources, like www.dnsexit.com, that can do the port forwarding for you. I have not a clue what the price would be to do so. My SMTP port was blocked, initially, when I set up my BBS, but I worked around
it by using port 2525 and finally switching to a new ISP provider. I know a l ot of people use a third party source to relay email.

$29.99/year. They relay on a number of ports, and provide DNS and DDNS for free. I've been quite happy with them.

I (Vertrauen) can provide MX services for any domain, but I'm only offering it for Synchronet BBSes (for obvious reasons).

i was able to get it sorted out by having vertrauen forward my emails to another port, that reminds, me i need to thank digital man. also had to add a line to the mx records on my end.
