in what OS? for OS/2 and winwhatever, virtual modems work... in *nix, dosbox or similar provides the link between the virtual com port and telnet... i think it is dosbox but...

*I* cannot because i don't use it on any of my systems with any of the bbs software packages i have in operation... plus, as i noted above, "i /think/ it is dosbox but..." i might have been thinking of dosemu... others have provided the info in the past and will likely pop in with the assistance again...
