I've noticed that I can send mail out to the internet, but incoming
messages never make it to the board. I don't even see connections coming in... MX records look good and I have ports 25 and 587 open the firewall. Anything else I can check config wise? EMTP is "Enabled" in the Sync Control Panel.
I've run some tests at pingability and other DNS/Mail test and they usually say they time out while trying to connect.
Any suggestions?
Your ISP may be blocking the standard SMTP mail port, as some ISPs are doing these days. If that's the case, you might need to use a port

While I wouldn't rule it out, the server is on a cloud AWS instance at Amazon so I can't image they'd be blocking ports. I have full access to the firewall and can open/close ports at will. After ports, how can I be sure the bbs is listening?

Here's a quick imgur album with my DNS records and the result of a mxtoolbox.check.

Not that I can see - the weird thing is I was just trying different options and I found that after I disabled "Authenticated Users Can Relay Via This Server" that everything started working again. Wierd.
Seems to be working just fine now.
