    it's a good thing he's got all those nodes. since we are all getting 200,000 calls a day it's important to run as many nodes as possible.

    Yeah, by the time I upgraded all of my modems one at a time to 14.4, they'd come out with 28.8 modems!

    I remember those days. When USRobotics came out with the sysop special for 500.00 for the 57K modems, it was a big day. I wish I had some of the money I spent on this hobby back.... LOL

    I don't think I ever paid for a modem. I work in IT, and companies were always chomping at the bit for the latest and greatest, and I was tasked with disposing of the next-to-latest-and-greatest. :)

    Only freebe I got was a 4 unit CD Rom Cab, for testing. It was nice, everything else I paid for. Over the past 25 years, I've put a lot of money in this hobby, but I have no regrets, it's been fun, and I've met a lot of great people.
