You only need to compile binkd on linux and those sort of OSs. There are binaries available for windows and OS/2 at least.
Read the binkd.faq that is posted in the fido binkd area for more info.

If you still prefer to run D'Bridge, I would look into its documentation for any Synchronet-specific setup tips.
