    Hey,

I'm curious if anyone knows of an existing useful javascript-written (preferably) or Baja bulletin mod for Synchronet. Bullseye is nice, but I personally want something a little more dynamic that I can configure in a config file or something with the name and path to the basename of the file(s) for displaying the bulletin entries, and it would automatically list off the bulletin items and display the appropriate .asc/.msg or .ans of that entry in whatever path is configured.

This would be for showing door game bulletins, like for BRE etc.. hence why I want configurable paths as to not have to setup symlinks or copy the bulletin files over to a specific place and name them, etc.

If there is one that anyone knows exists, I'd be curious to see it. :)

    Thanks,

in sbbs/text/bullseye.cfg you can specify the paths to the bulletins... max has
some from text, some from docs and some from various door games listed... then she manually edited the bullseye.asc file to list them in the proper order...

no symlinks or copying needed ;)

i'm pretty sure bullseye and other bulletin mods do just that.

Heh, while this is true.. Editing those ASC files in Linux can be quite tedious. vim does some funky display issues when editing a file with a bunch of ^A's in it. I've already tried that basically, and been bitten by it. :)

That is one thing I do like about it. One thing I don't so much like about it is, I wish it were written in JavaScript so I could mod it myself to do more. :)

Is there a way where with the bullseye bulletins to be able to run a bulletin from within the bulltins? To be more specfic if I made a another set of bullseye bulletins like for game scores or something along that line and make a entry on the oner that come in Synchronet to call up all whole different to have al the game scores listed.

That's not a current feature of bullseye bulletins, but you could certainly add it (the source code is exec/bullseye.js).

Yeah, the "nested bulletins". GT Power has that feature...but, with a combination of EZLOGON, and BULLSEYE, plus the specialized "bulletin
doors", that takes care of bulletins for me. For the door scores, I use
the ANSI screens, but for the others, I use the ascii ones.

As a note, that "bulletins door" I use was a door done by the late
Dave Perry, who did 4 other ham radio related doors for BBS's...however,
they didn't have a fossil driver, so you had to get a workaround to have
them work under telnet. This door (BULLET), allowed for 26
items/bulletins under the category desired. I use it for Ham Radio,
Weather, and Christian related...the latter for those wanting them. I
use the Online Bulletins Viewer from T&J Software for the door scores.

Thanks for the info on this Digital Man. Now if I only knew how to do this stuff with the js files I would try it but I have no clue how to do any of that. But it is something for me to think about.

    Thanks again
