I see that duece has been working on tickit and I see an ini or config file for it.
How is tickit run so that it will import files recieved with a tic?

It's on the wiki:
http://wiki.synchro.net/util:tickit
Since I did that I am getting a password error because I don't use a packet password with most of my links. Is it possible to use a different password for tics than the packet password?
BTW, in my wildest dreams I never thought that I would find things like tickit binkp and freqit in synchronet, but if you are going to implement it I will surely use it.. :)

You really should not use a packet or TIC password. they are sent in plain text, and if you're not using dialup are worse than useless.
I've noticed in the last little bit that when files arrive (that don't have a file_id.diz) the file description starts with the file size, is that intentional? I get some files from a link using allfix that don't include "Size" in the tics so those descriptions start with "undefined ...".
I also noticed that one file arrived without a file_id.diz and it had a fairly long description and an extended description was created for it. Nice touch. :)
No, that sounds like an addfiles/files.bbs usage bug in tickit... I'll take a look tonight.

Heh, if it's in the spec, TickIT tries to support it... glad to hear some hatch programs are using it. :-)
Whatever you did it seems to be working as expected now. Descriptions seem to have a space in front of them though, but that's minor.

Minor bugs is still bugs!
Is it just the extended descriptions that have the extra space?

Can you give me an example of the addfiles command line tickit is using along with a look at the files.bbs it is importing?

The addfiles command-line is:
addfiles <subname> -zd <files.bbs> 23 12
The files.bbs file format is:
filename.ext 1234567890 Description Line One
Description Line Two
In writing this, I realized that filenames are 12 chars long... fixed.
what happens to files with LFNs??
i'm not sure if the last one qualifies as LFN but it does use '+' which may have problems on some systems...

Where does tickit write it's logfile to. It's not processing, so
I wanted to see if anything was in a log.

By default, it goes to the same place as other SBBS related logging goes to. Not sure if you're on Linux or Windows...
I'm on windows, but didn't see anything in the logs or data dirs

Do you have a tickit timed event?

TickIT runs as a timed event, so wherever you timed event are logging to (e.g. the "Events" window in SBBSCTRL-Win32). --
