  • Fido Netmail

    Hello,

    I have scoured and read, the re-read the docs, searched Google, read old messages and for a couple of days spent a few hours trying to get everything working for FidoNet.

    I have Bink set up, it does connect both directions. I have sbbsecho set up and it reads the message areas to pack up any new messages (which I have none yet - this leads to my issue)

    When I send an areafix message it says in Synchronet that it is Netmail, thats good, but sbbsecho never packs up the message to send. It remains as /sbbs/node1/netmail.msg

    Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Disregard the message. I was at my wits end, tried everything. Then I remembered that I tend to overlook simplistic things when trying too hard. I concentrated so hard on the echo and binkd config files I had not scrutinized the scfg. Long story short my paths did not match from the bbs config to binkd config.

    Problem resolved.

    That's ok. I totally derped here as well, overlooking the simplest thing,
    like setting the port forwarding in my router for the binkp and telnet ports for argus. I could poll out, but my fido host couldn't poll me. Le Derp. :)

    lol I have done that too, usually it is the simplest thing that was missed when setting something up.

    Are you using the real Bink-P or the BinkIt for Synchronet?
