I was trying to use an NNTP client, it pulled everything in alright BUT when I go to do a new post I get an error on the services in the BBS...

NNTP !JavaScript c:\sbbs\exec\nntpservice.js line 753: ReferenceError: decode_news_body is not defined.

I tried posting into my local general, fido test and a few others and always get that error when trying to post. I have tried different NNTP clients and all of them do the same thing server side.

decode_news_body is defined in exec/load/newsutil.js. What revision of this file do you have? Also make sure you don't have any other copies of newsutil.js floating around (e.g. in your "exec" directory).

ok that was the problem, there was a copy of that JS file in the EXEC dir for some reason. I deleted it and just did a post and did not get an error... Thanks Rob

For good measure, you probably want to check for more left-overs then. Running "jsexec update.js" (in your exec directory) will do this for you, or you can check for dupes by hand. But any files in your exec/load directory should *not* also exist in your exec directory.
