• Sending Netmail

From IronMan@VERT to All on Thu Sep 15 16:10:18 2016
Will / Does Synchronet have an option that will search the nodelist and enter the node number of a person you are trying to send netmail to? My older Searchlight system would finish the line of a person you were trying to send a netmail to including the node address. Just wondering..

Made it easy if you knew the persons name but not the Fido address.

of course it can only work if you are writing to the sysop of the destination system... you'd still have to know the FTN address of the system if you want to
write a netmail to a user of that system ;)

I think the Baja module "smeg@" used to do that. It might still work with Synchronet, worth a shot. Deuce is doing stuff with nodelist parsing lately, so perhaps he could cook something up (best to find him on irc.synchro.net these days).

I made something a while ago which might do what you're looking for, though I don't exactly remember now:

echicken wrote something more recently (in JS), have you tried that?

I doubt if he cares. :D

I suspect that the nodelist-parsing part of what I wrote was slapped together without too much care, but IIRC it works. The nifty part of it is the autocomplete suggestions that pop up as you type. (So far the only use I've found for my 'typeahead' library.)
