Just curious, Is SMB_POLL_ANSWER going to be another @-Code?

I'm trying to stay up with all of the recent changes with the voting.

Just curious, and I know I'm asking alot, But is there a way you could have a secondary text.dat file with just mods that you have created for our(each sysop) system only, that would get read into the primary text.dat file, so everytime it's updated on your end, it doesn't have to be manually updated on our end to reflect the customazations we have made to it. Example, I've changed about 20 or so prompts in my text.dat, and I'm sure other sysops do the
same, and everytime a new text.dat comes out, I go in and manually change every custom prompt I've made. If those custom prompts could be stored in another file, that could be read into by text.dat, that would save lot's of time. Please don't read this the wrong way, I'm not complaining or finding fault by any means, I'm just throwing ideas out there to see if it's even possable. I hope this made some kind of sense.

No. There are up to 16 answers per poll, so I don't think could be handled very well via @-codes.

That is already supported. Rather than editing your text.dat file, using the Baja or JS replace_text functions (e.g. put these in your login or logon modules or events). That way, your ctrl/text.dat file can remain stock, but your customizations are still made as you want them, dynamically.

You could do something similar using command-line or GUI diff/patch tools, but the replace_text mechanism is probably easier.

Yup, makes sense. Of course, keep an eye on the stock version of the text.dat items you're replacing. If the stock format drastically changes (e.g. adding or removing % specifiers, adding or removing new-line sequences), then you might need to adjust your customized strings accordingly.

ok, still figuring it all out.

OK, I'll look into that. Thanks.
