I had to quote this back so I can show you the above... I am not getting this with any of my editors, nor can I find the configuration switch that turns it on / off... I feel so dumb... Synch sometimes is not the best thing for me to grasp. Thought I would try again after I've improved a bit with my brain injury. My cognitive scores are much higher than they were last year so I might even try some coding :-)

It's always the simple things that trip me up.

You talking about the "Re:" and "By:" lines? These are in your ctrl/text.dat file. So long as you're using the Terminal Server (i.e. using Telnet, RLogin, or SSH), to post your reply to a message, you should get it prepended automatically to your posted text.

Oddly it is not and I am telnetting in. I will have to open another port on my
router (I will make it port 81) so that people can hit the Synchronet side of the livewire. One thing I'm happy about is the winserver NNTP server is feeding the newsgroups into my Synchronet at lightning speed. I will then have
to convert everything to Giganews... should be as simple as moving the control file once they are updated on Synchronet.

I think I will be here to stay once I get everything converted. I'm becmoing more of a mail hub and it appears that your tosser is what I need to do the job
    properly.

I just hope I don't get stumped by a baja or JS problem and get spooked away again. I'm doing much better cognitively, now if I can just break the chrnoic migraine cycle.

Only be setting the corresponding lines in your ctrl/text.dat file to empty strings ("").

Yes. By removing the pertinant text in text.dat. (ie: that line should read "")
