• Double Origin Lines

    Hello Digital!

The Golded echo people could not figure out this one. I have the append new origin line turned off in SBBSECHO Config. Why is it re-tagging a second origin line below my origin line? Can you please advise.

Also noticed on the wiki the fix with the rescan you did for me months back is not documented.

    Does

    %rescan echotag

still work for single echo rescans?

    Allen

I had the same problem when I installed Golded+ on another Linux
machine here. I simply told one to stop using an origin line.
There usually a config entry keyword that will en/disable the
    use of the origin line.

I think I figured it out in Synchronet. I would rather leave the
Golded origins in first so if there's problems I can figure out
    if it's golded or sync.

welll... uummmm... i was pretty sure that sbbsecho had a way to not
place the origin line if there was one already in place on locally
written posts... you should ask DM about this in the synchronet
echo... they've recently done work on sbbsecho that someone else wrote years ago... this should be a simple check to add...

    local message?
does it already have an origin line?
    no: add one
    yes: skip adding one

There is no such option in "SBBSECHO config". To prevent SBBSecho from appending Origin lines (which is generally a bad idea), you'd have to set the "Append Tag/Origin Line" to "No" for each FTN sub-board in SCFG->Message Areas. But if you do this, then any message created withOUT GoldEd will be lacking an Origin Line and thus violating FTN specifications. It would be much better to disable the Origin Line addition by GoldEd.

Also noticed on the wiki the fix with the rescan you did for me months back is not documented.

That was an enhancement added to SBBSecho v3. SBBSecho v3 is not currently documented on the Wiki.

I had the same problem when I considered using Golded+ with SBBS. I decided
to use Golded+ with Husky and BinkD on a separate Linux PC.
