From Allen Prunty@VERT to All on Tue Feb 14 20:50:53 2017
can someone pls point me in the right direction on the setting to make the QWK network import messages older than 30 days? I want to get all of the messsages that I can because I know there's tons of support informaiton in there.

    Thanks

Log into the hub using your QWK account there. You may need to hit '?' to bring up the menu, after which point you should be able to adjust your scan pointers. Set them as far back as you want to go, then log off. The next time your system polls, it should pick up the backlog.

Login to your QWK hub and setup your last read pointers for whatever message areas you are pulling.

I figured it out... there was a message option in scfg I had to set... I thought it was in echocfg but it was actually in the scfg message base options.

Oh, are you the hub in this case? I guess the 'Days of New Messages' new user setting would help in that case, if only for new accounts. Your existing users would probably still need to adjust their pointers if they want older messages.

echocfg is for ftn style areas only, but for what you were explaining was new read pointers (sounded that way to me) which on your end should have nothing to do with scfg, (unless you did'nt set the message areas to your hubs conference numbers) so I trust that your mail is moving smoothhly now?

    Well now, that's a hell of a comparison. :)

Never has the LiveWire's mail hub ever ran so responsively. Packets hit and boom they are processed almost instantaneously and sent right back out. Never has it ever been so fast.

Now that I have a decent computer on the BBS... and have a solid state drive BOOM the thing is absolutely turning the mail around in seconds.
