  • ecwebv4 file download bug?

    I think I've encounted a bug with the ecwebv4 interface. When you attempt to download a file with a two character extension (in my case, .IT or .XM) it sends "{}" rather than the actual file.

    I've done some digging through the source to try and isolate the cause myself, but I'm not familiar enough with SBBS yet to track it down. In the meantime, I've switched to linking to the SBBS ftp web interface for file delivery/browsing.

    it usually sends that {} when a file is unavailable or if you have download restrictions on it. are those files showing up available and can be downloaded in ftp or telnet?

    do you have GUEST restricted from download and you are attempting to download without logging in?

    thats the only thing I think it could be other than a bug, because here it is completely normal if I am not logged in, I have most all my file areas locked from download access to guest, but they can still view.

    No restrictions. I have the majority of my files accessible to guests, and I've been able to send the files both ways via ftp and telnet no problem. Accessing them via the built-in web ftp interface works fine too.

    Other files in the same areas work perfectly fine as long as they have a three character extension.

    sure does sound like a bug of some sort to me then.. wonder if it is just in ecweb or sbbs proper? do they show up correctly and can be downloaded by other means?
