What MRO said, LORD II with lots of IGMs. The version # reflected (approximately) how many IGMs were in the C.N.W. package. I am running you want to see it in action (unless I accidentally level restricted it which case let me know). I only get a brief delay when it launches, but it runs mostly fine.
if there's a delay when it launches, maybe that's the one time daily
maint that runs the maint for each module.

I am running 137.1, which is done by installing 137.0 and then the 137.1 K>update on top of it. I found and then tried to install and run 137.2, but it K>was very unfinished and was all sorts of broken (at least for me it was).
Make sure you install it to a brand new clean install of LORD2.

I did all that, and it installed fine. But, when I tried to run it, it bogged down. Now, that was from the local console, but from a regular
telnet client login. Someone noted that if I logon to the BBS from
another computer (i.e. on the LAN), it might work better. I haven't
tried that yet.

The Maintenance I run is pretty simple. I run it this way based on reading K>through bunches of the CNW documentation. Somewhere along the way I found not K>from the CNW author that stated sometimes the maintenance needed to be run K>twice, and he suggest running it the second time the way you see below. So, I K>have 3 batch files, the first is to simply call the other two in the right K>order:

Does CNW equire nightly maint. I've seen a few refrences to it, but I don't s D>it in the documentation anywhere. There was so much talk about the program, I D>installed it, but don't know what to do about nightly maint on it. Does anyon D>know for sure?, and if so, what is the command line. Thanks

Yes...you just need to run CNW in local mode. You create a "Sysop
Player" when you start/reset the game...but you don't have to play it.
What I did was have LORD2 in the nightly maintenance file, for it to
run the maintenance first (LORD2 as the command line). Then I had it run LORD2 again to "load the Sysop player". After a few minutes, it'd "time out", and exit the batchfile (I had that as the last event in nightly maintenance).
If you don't do that (especially the first run of LORD2), you'll get a message saying "You appear to be one of the players and not the Sysop".
Strangely enough, the regular version of L.O.R.D. II (NOT Complete New World) does NOT require this to be done for its maintenance.

this isnt correct and is showing an issue with one of the igms or the game's data files. with a fresh copy of cnw it doesnt do this.
for maint to run, the user just needs to enter the game.

Thanks, I finally figured that out after lots of reding. Works great now. But D>in the process, I broke my BRE.. LOL, it never ends.
I discovered a glitch between my BBS and Mojo's World with BRE, FE,
and TAL (we're testing an InterBBS deal between us, and I think your system is in on it at the moment). Anyway, when I logged into the game yesterday, it said "You are the BBS Coordinator" -- I thought "WTH??!!".
I emailed Mojo, and he agreed that something got screwed up on his end.
I did get the batchfile setup right though, so stuff is moved, and I
have that running once an hour.
it all from scratch, clean install of the game and CNW 137.0, then upgrade to 137.1, and it fixed a lot of the weirdness I was getting. But, I still would get that message, "You appear to be one of the players and not the Sysop."

okay now i just did it and i got this msg with a pause. didnt do it before. also i ran the game locally as a sysop and maint didnt run.
i suggest doing lord2.bat /maint as a maint command line.
that runs maint and exits.
you can also make a flag file and check for its existance and run or dont run maint and put this into the batchfile.
