I want to play with extract data from echostats.ini

I see that the ini section to the area do not identify what network are
from. Like [Fidonet:Area] syntax as used in sbbsecho.ini

Example: i have two echos "Doors" from Fidonet and GameNet
how area saved the stats for these two areas if section name are [Doors]
    on both?

    thanks!

There are no AreaTags referenced in sbbsecho.ini

Duplicate AreaTags would be a problem. I imagine that would cause problems for the Area File (areas.bbs) parsing in SBBSecho too. Are you sure the AreaTags (aka EchoTags) are actually duplicates? Can you paste the relevant lines from your area file?

SBBSecho is not actually domain-aware, so there's currently no concept of "FidoNet" versus "Othernet" in SBBSecho - they're all just zones. And it's possible for a single area/echo to be linked to multiple zones. So you can't really say an area is a "FidoNet" area when it's also gated to "SomeOtherNet", just as an example.

So... yeah. I'm clearly duplicate AreaTags would be a problem, but I think they'd be a problem in other areas of SBBSecho as well. So, I'm curious if you actually have that configuration happening there.

I kown, i just use as syntax example for set network + area pair in a
    ini section file.

Example: i have two echos "Doors" from Fidonet and GameNet
how area saved the stats for these two areas if section name are [Doors] on both?

First, don't worr because i don't have the problem yet.

But the real example will be:

developernet, gamenet and fidonet have a "windows" area.

luckily i carry developernet and gamenet via qwk instead of ftn, so it's
    not actually problem for now.
But if somebody carry two o more network wich same area tag can be unpredictable.

Ok. could it be related to dupes too?, for example, i receive
sync_programming from fidonet via ftn (my fidonet messages group that area). Then, i notice that sbbsecho log detect duplicates messages with the
    dovenet area.

thanks! when I have more free time, i will try to reproduce with real configurations.

check the orig addresses in each record? the packets should be created by a zone address in the network they claim to be from...

    eg: LastReceived.pkt_orig

but yeah, i don't know if sbbsecho makes a distinction between two or more identically named echos in its stats and if it does, how it differentiates between them in the stats...
