Hey man, would you be willing to add some simple editing features like Ctrl-Y to delete a whole line?

SlyEdit already has that feature (and has had that since the beginning). You can delete a line using Ctrl-D.

Yes, but I think the point he was making is that CTRL Y is the standard
from the old WordStar days.

oh i never really looked at the help section. ctrl+y was always a command i'm used to using for nuking a line. i guess if i am that picky i can change it.

Maybe add ctrl-y as an option seeing as how it doesn't do anything at
the moment? Only reason not too I guess would be if you're planning to implement Undo/Redo, in which case, carry on.
Why not just use Ctrl-D? I don't really see the point in adding a 2nd CTRL key combination for an existing feature.

Perhaps you could make it a config option, in an INI file or something, so that sysops (or even users) could customize their keybindings. The help screen would need to be generated based on the current configuration, but otherwise I don't imagine it would be that much work.
That could be done.. But I think that would create confusion among users who use SlyEdit, as different BBSes might have different key bindings for SlyEdit. I think that would create a bad user experience - especially since SlyEdit has already been out for 4 years and people are used to it.

This is why it would probably be better as a per-user rather than a BBS-wide configuration. (I'm fine without it.)

it was a SUGGESTION, I see ya putting in such amazing features into
(IMHO) one of the best BBS addons being developed these days, and I just THOUGHT you might like an idea to IMPROVE an already AMAZING editor.
