I think maybe it was running on software called AmberMud or something?
fantasy type game, and you would basically get the objects required for ea quest and throw them into a Pit. And once it was in the Pit you got point it, and the object or monster or whatever disappeared from the game. Then
Dumb question - is this a pretty common approach that MUDs take? I played on a few VAX (and similar) MUDs that - to my recollection - did not use this mechanic of throwing objects into a pit to advance the game collectively. This sounds pretty intriguing.
I see in a later post you identified this as AberMUD (which I am familiar with but never, knowingly, played). Any idea if this is an AberMUD mechanic, or am I correct in thinking it was just coded by students.
