    Hello everybody!

I was released from the hospital last night.

The culture showed no infection but just in case, I was given an IV-only antibiotic that will last about 20 days in my system. It's in the same family as vancomycin (which I am allergic to). Since I have had serious issues with MRSA in the past, that was a precautionary move.

I'm feeling meh but am picking up the apartment so home health can come over and help me with dressing my wound.

I am not sure if the nodelist issue has been fixed yet but I will deal with that over the weekend.

I've been a little lazy but now back to business. Thankfully there was no infection in the wound. I have home health care coming over on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to dress the wound for me. Due to my diabetic neuropathy and where the wound is (under my right calf in the rear of my leg), I need help taking care of it.

My prostheticist (sp?) created a new cast of my calf area for my new leg brace to go onto my new shoes (need a new pair every year) and he said that he will make sure that the issue that caused my wound will never happen again. I'll also be looking at the area myself with a mirror daily.

    We will cope for now

As long as the hubs fly their old region numbers (except for Mike) for now, things should be okay. But I will be fixing things so this will not happen again.

You seem to be going through the wars. I hope you get some respite from it all.
My left knee replacement never took right, there is a slight bend in the knee so have to have another operation on it.

    Hi everyone,

I'm finally back home. I didn't get discharged until nearly 3 PM EDT
and that's typical for the VA. I am now back home, safe and sound.

To make a very long story short, due to a perfect syorm of happenings,
my kidneys stopped working. I was pumped full of a sodium bicarbonate
(baking soda) and saline solution for four days anlong with a silicon
zirconium powder to absorb excess potassium from my system. Sunday
morning, my kidneys started to work again.

I had a CT scan and an ultrasound of my bladder. The CT scan revealed
two very tiny kidney stones that were not involved in this in any way.
The ultrasound revealed no issues, thankfully.

I was given medication to help me pass those kidney stones and prevent
more from happening. I have a follow-up lab for bloodwork in a week.

I dodged a bullet this time.

The funny part: they told me I was drinking too much water and to cut
    down...

Good for you to be home again! There's no place like home!

Funny, they usually say one drinks not enough water. How much is to much?
i have a pack of backing soda and use a pinch of it to soften (less acidic) my coffee.

    Half-gallon or less.

I take bakibng soda tablets to calm and soothe my kidneys for the very same reason...
